Terms and Conditions

Scheduled Courses

Payment must be received before a course can be confirmed.
Payment should reach us prior to the start date of the course.
We accept payment by cheque, bank transfer or credit/debit cards.

It is our policy to take card details over the phone only at the time of payment. We use a virtual terminal service to take payments, and do not make or store physical or electronic copies of your card details. Please do not send us card details by email or letter.

On receipt of your purchase order or payment, we will issue an Invoice, showing courses booked and full amount due or paid.
Cheques should be made payable to First Alternative.

Scheduled course fees include lunch and refreshments, but not travel or accommodation.
If you wish to cancel or postpone a course or training package, you must do so in writing no less than 10 clear working days before the commencement date, or full payment will be due.
Substitution of delegates may be made at any time, but please inform our training administrator.
Any refunds will normally be made by cheque or to the credit card which you used to pay..
Course descriptions are provided on our web site and are available upon request. It is up to you to ensure all attendees meet the prerequisites for attending any course, especially those beyond the basic level. We reserve the right to cancel attendance and refund in full the monies paid for anyone who does not meet the minimum skill requirements.
The course content will change from time to time as new facilities are introduced, in order to ensure the material taught is up-to-date.
We reserve the right to change the course venue, but this is rarely necessary and plenty of notice will be given.

Onsite Courses

Some additional terms apply to our on-site courses:-
Payment: We require a 50% payment in advance for all on-site courses. The balance, plus expenses, will be invoiced after the course and is due within 28 days of course completion.
We reserve the right to request full payment in advance where a client has no previous credit history with us, or where the course is taking place outside the UK. Customers may choose to pay the full amount in advance in any case. Invoices will normally be raised upon receipt of payment.

If you wish to cancel or postpone a course, you must do so in writing no less than 10 clear working days before the commencement date, or full payment will be due.

If you use a a debit or credit card to pay for on-site services, payments can be taken a maximum of 4 weeks prior to the course start date.

Whilst we have made every attempt to ensure that this web site is up-to-date and correct, there will be rare occasions when it presents incorrect information. First Alternative cannot be held legally liable for information held at this site, nor any consequences thereof.
